Toyota has finally unveiled their concept version of the FT-86 II (Supra replacement) that is jointly designed with Subaru. The FT-86 II is rear-wheel drive only, and is expected to release to the European market in mid-to-late 2012.
The car is currently on display at the Geneva Motor Show, as it features a short rear end and a low front that looks like an advancement of the FT-HS concept which was debuted at the 2012 NAIAS. The cars longer hood shows some design cues from the extinct Toyota Supra, but also has a lot of Batmobile type styling as well...it must be the black paint.
From the front, side, and back angle, the car has beautiful and aggressive lines. Toyota states that this car shown at Geneva is extremely close to the final the production model. The concept shown above measures 4,235 mm long, 2,570 mm in wheelbase, 1,795 mm in width, and 1,270 mm in height.
The FT-86 II uses a boxer engine that is linked to a 6-speed manual transmission. The cabin of the car is set towards the rear, and the engine is mid-front mounted. This gives the FT-86 II fantastic balance and a low center of gravity, according to Toyota. There were no engine specifications revealed to date
